To prevent aged claims from occurring, you should periodically review (recommendation: once a quarter) your AR processes, resolve any credentialing issues, and properly review claims before sending them off. To work your aging claims, prioritize your payers and their timely filing limits, approach your AR through increments, and, when filing appeals, send as much documentation as you can.
